We at Gastrointestinal Medicine Associates are actively monitoring the rapidly evolving situation of the COVID 19 pandemic. The safety of our patients is and always will be our number one priority. Starting March 23rd, we will be focusing our office hours on urgent follow ups or consults only. Due to limited staffing, we kindly ask that you reserve phone calls for urgent manners and appreciate your patience in this difficult time. We are currently expanding our telemedicine capabilities which we will use to continue to provide quality care while keeping our patients safe at home. In accordance with the GI joint society guidelines, we are currently cancelling elective procedures and only urgent procedures will be performed at our facilities. Also, if you are experiencing cough, fever, muscle aches, shortness of breath, diarrhea or additional symptoms please contact your primary care provider for guidance and please do not come to the office in order to protect our staff and other vulnerable patients. We will all get through this together, and we look forward to being part of your health care in the years to come. Thank you for your understanding in this unprecedented time. We have included a link to the Rhode Island Department of Health website and the CDC for additional information and updates regarding COVID-19.
